The existence of oil palm industry and its derivatives is appraised to be strategic for the national economy. Oil palm industry and its derivatives are also considered to be able to build food sustainability and energy sovereignty. Presently, they are encouraged to develop downstream in order to jack up the domestic economic activities. Oil palm industry and its derivatives have grown rapidly from upstream or downstream to oleochemical industry.
In the last five years (2017-2021), Indonesia’s oleochemical Indonesia industry has shown its positive performance and has a bright prospect in the world market. During this period, the production of oleochemical products such as fatty acid, fatty alcohol, glycerine, and soap noodles has continued to increase. The production of these oleochemicals, the majority of which are intended for the export market, experiences high world demand every year, even when COVID-19 then its performance remains positive. The production of oleochemical products continues to increase.
