Study on Business Potential and Major Players of Wheat & Wheat Flour Industry in Indonesia, 2018 – 2027 – Indonesia will immediately shift the position of Egypt as the largest wheat importing country in the world. Based on the research output of CDMI Consulting that in the last five years (2013 – 2017) wheat import had increased highly with average growth rate of 15.2%. In 2013, the import of wheat reached 6.72 million tons and rocketed to 11.43 million tons valued US$ 2.65 billion in 2017. This great import of wheat was due to rapid growth of domestic food industries.

Five countries including Australia, Ukraine, Canada, Russia and USA enjoy high wheat import of Indonesia. In 2017, the largest wheat import was from six companies of Australia namely CBH Grain Pty Ltd, Cargill Autralia Limited, Plum Grove Pty Ltd, Graincorp Operation Limited, Australian Grain Export Pty Ltd dan ADM Trading (Australia) Pty Ltd; NIBULON S.A of Ukraine, Richardson International Limited of Canada, LLC Zolotaya Semechka of Russia and PACIFOR LLC of USA.

Five companies which mostly imported wheat in 2017 are PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk of 4.78 million tons valued more than US$ 1 billion followed by PT. Bungasari Flour Mills Indonesia, PT. Agristar Grain Indonesia, PT. Eastern Pearl Flour Mills, PT. Sriboga Flour Mills and other 20 wheat importing companies of which their data is presented in this study.
