Indonesia has various marine and fishery potential with extremely great sources. This great potential is also seen from the availability of fishery breeding areas which have kept on increasing in the last six years (2011-2016). In 2011, the width of fish farming areas was 1.19 million hectares and soared to 1.44 million hectares in 2016.
Based on a survey of PT. CDMI Consulting that in the last six years the domestic fishery condition has been improving and it is seen from the rising production either capture fishery production or fishery farming production with average growth of 20% per annum. In 2011 the development of fishery farming production reached 6.47 million tons in 2011 and already reached 6.47 million tons in 2016. Whereas, the production of capture fishery in 2011 amounted to 5.71 million tons and soared to 7.97 million tons in 2016. Up to end 2016 Indonesian fishery production value has reached Rp. 139.2 trillion.
